Venus from Willendorf |

(Below) Copies of the figurine named ”Venus from Willendorf ” which was found in Austria near the town Willendorf in 1908 and dates back to app. 24.000 B.C.
Many
people suggest that she symbolizes "earth mother" and fertility and
that she probably originates back from the earliest matriarchy societies.
It
has been unbelievably rewarding as part of my shamanic practice to reproduce specifically
this old clay figurine. Shamanic journeys and dreams have served to increase my knowledge of the early tribal societies.
All
this has left me with a feeling that, at that time, people recognized the
relationship and the unity with everything living as foundational. The respect
for nature was based on the acknowledgement of dependency and on the concept
of being part of a whole. Many rituals were about the tribe´s continuity and
small figurines were made in honor and gratitude and with a prayer about help
for survival. The figurines were worn symbolizing taking the responsibility of
